Funk Yeah! NYE

AP Spend NYE at Bristol’s Colston Hall

Wednesday 3rd January 2018

AP Security were delighted to work with Bristol’s Colston Hall on their Funk Yeah! New Year’s Eve Party. This was advertised as “the New Year’s Eve shindig to top them all”, and was a great success in all respects.

Colston Hall is Bristol’s biggest concert venue, and the New Year’s Eve event - headed by BBC Radio 6 Music host and veteran DJ, Craig Charles - was an extravaganza of funk, soul and retro disco. As well as Craig’s Funk and Soul Club, Soultrain DJs were celebrating their 25th anniversary, the James Taylor Quartet were playing funky acid jazz, and there were other acts throughout the building.

AP staff provided queue management and carried out searches on the entrances to the venue. Additionally, they provided roaming teams throughout the venue, which were a discreet but reassuring presence during the whole event.

Operations Manager Martin Borg was delighted with how the evening went. “We really enjoyed being at Colston Hall, collaborating with the events team there on a great New Years’ Eve event. All the AP team at the event played their part. In particular, the efficient but sensitive way they carried out the initial queue management and searches help set a very positive tone for the whole evening.”

“It was very safe and pleasant environment to work in,” Martin continued, “and it was great to contribute to an event that appealed to so many age groups.”
