Forest Live 2018

2018 sees another significant promotion for Forest Live

Friday 15th June 2018

The Forestry Commission’s Forest Live concert series commenced over the weekend, for the 2018 season with twenty-one live concerts across seven venues across the country hidden away in the beautiful Forestry Commission woodland, attracting tens of thousands of music fans over the season.

The Script opened the show in Thetford Forest last Thursday, the first of four dates. With Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott performing on Saturday, Gary Barlow and Kasabian on Friday and Sunday to sell-out crowds.

It was a busy but fully enjoyable weekend for AP, as security and stewarding provider for all locations, starting with Delamere Forest, with three live event dates, alongside Thetford. Both venues were an operational success, and it is an event that AP staff thoroughly enjoy being a part of, providing a safe but friendly environment.

“The sheer variety of acts on offer throughout Forest Live appeal to different ages and tastes. So, we are always aware the audience can vary from venue to venue, and therefore in the planning stages each concert date is treated individually.” Said John Phillips, AP’s Business Development Manager, “Overall it is a family friendly event and the relaxed atmosphere is one that AP has been a key in supporting alongside all involved.”

2018 sees another significant promotion for Forest Live, with perennial Festival-headliners Kasabian playing what many might consider an intimate show. “I like to think we are fully aligned to the Forest Live key objectives” continues John, “the primary objective is to introduce these beautiful locations to an audience who may not have normally visited were it not for the concert; and in doing so, to look to grow year-round attendance at Forestry Commission sites throughout the country”. “Whilst a Kasabian show may be seen as changing the landscape of what has been a typical Forest live event, it is undoubtedly, marking a significant achievement of that primary objective.”

AP Security are looking forward to another fantastic weekend of Forest Live, with Westonbirt Arboretum and Bedgebury Pinetum continuing the party in the woods tonight, with George Ezra, Paloma Faith, The Script and Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott until Sunday. See you there!
